I’m comforted by the number of times the humanity and imperfection of God’s people is clearly seen.

And they are told either by God or by His messengers, “Do not be afraid.  Do not fear.   Don’t let your heart be troubled.”

When our own humanity and imperfection is most clearly seen, we have the same assurance that no matter what the circumstance is, that we serve a God who is far greater and far larger and far more powerful.

God > evil (1 corinthians 15:3-4, romans 8:6)

God > death (acts 13:30, luke 8:49-55, ephesians 2:1-6, 1 corinthians 15:54-57)

God > time (2 peter 2:8-9)

God > nature (exodus 14:13-21-22, joshua 10:13, matthew 8:24-27, joshua 3:15-17, james 5:16-17)

The Foolishness of God >  mans maximum intelligence (1 Corinthians 1:25)

The Weakness of God > mans maximum strength (1 Corinthians 1:25)

God > the world (john 16:33, 1 john 5:4-5).

God’s Love > life (psalm 63:3)

God > anything we could ever fear besides Him (isaiah 43:1-5)

God > anything that could ever worry us (matthew 6:25-34)

God > our past (jeremiah 29:11-14, luke 15:17-24, 1 timothy 1:12-15, romans 12:2, romans 6:3-6)

God > our heart (1 john 3:20)

God > our perception of what’s possible (john 6:16-21, matthew 17;27, Matthew 4:24)

God > the doctrines and traditions of men

God > Our Enemies (deuteronomy 1:28-30, romans 12:17-20, psalm 124).
